On January 1, the Open Applications Group (OAGi) proudly welcomed Jim Wilson as the organization’s new president and CEO. Wilson succeeds long-time president and CEO David Connelly as OAGi’s leader.

“Jim has been a core member of OAGi for more than nine years and throughout this time has contributed his wealth of knowledge regarding process, data standards and more to the organization,” states Connelly. “I cannot think of a more fitting, more qualified individual to lead OAGi.”

Wilson earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business. Throughout his distinguished career, Wilson has served as an officer in the US Navy, a United States delegate to the United Nations Centre for Trade Fasilitation and Electronic Business, and President & CEO of AgGateway Global Network. Additionally, he led the project to set global chemical industry process and data standards with CIDX, as well as grain-handling process and data standards with AgXML.

“I am honored to accept this position and look forward to OAGi’s future as a leader in the international standards space,” said Wilson. “David is a legend in the global standards arena, and I fully appreciate the challenge of carrying on his legacy.”

Wilson resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife and three sons. In addition to his work in standards definition, Wilson enjoys traveling, keeping up on emerging technologies and writing an occasional line of code.

OAGi is the world’s most mature and comprehensive enterprise canonical standard. With Wilson at the helm, members look forward to the organization’s continued growth and are excited to see the role that OAGi will play on advances in the technology sphere.
