After serving as president and CEO of OAGi for two decades, David Connelly announces his retirement.

Serving as president and CEO of the Open Applications Group (OAGi) since 1998, David Connelly officially retired. Effective as of January 1, Connelly is succeeded by OAGi’s Chemical Council Architect Jim Wilson.

“It has been my honor and privilege to serve as president and CEO of OAGi for the past 20 years,” states Connelly. “Moreover, I am grateful to all OAGi members past and present for the contributions to the organization.”

OAGi began as an opportunity for customers to have more choices in their business applications. An original board member in 1994, Connelly has played an integral role in bringing this vision to life.

Under Connelly’s leadership, the organization moved from its original metadata format to XML Schema, and later offered JSON support. This shift further solidified OAGi’s influence as the world’s most comprehensive enterprise canonical standard.

“Working alongside David has been an absolute privilege,” states Wilson. “David’s perspectives on the global standards arena and his vision for OAGi’s future will prove to be indispensable as we face the challenges ahead.”

OAGi is the world’s most mature and comprehensive enterprise canonical standard. Members look forward to the organization’s continued growth and are excited to see the role that OAGi will play in an environment of rapid technological change under Wilson’s leadership.
