OAGi plans to release OAGIS 10.5 by year end. This release will include new content from Oracle’s Application Integration Architecture Enterprise Business Objects (EBOs) contribution to OAGi harmonized with OAGIS. New and updated messages (Business Object Documents) will include:
- ShipmentStatus (TransportationStop EBO)
- revisions to Shipment
Scott Nieman, Land O’Lakes Enterprise Integration Architect, leads the harmonization effort, which includes contributors from ADP, AgGateway, Archer Daniels Midland, Boeing, Infor, Lockheed Martin, NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and Oracle.
The team plans to produce schemas and supporting resources using two methods: 1) Using a part manual part scripted process refined by OAGi’s Chief Architect, Mike Rowell (sponsored by Oracle) over the years, and 2) Using an automated process managed by a tool jointly developed by NIST and OAGi called the Semantic Refinement Tool. OAGi will compare the output of the two processes to confirm consistency or correct any issues. This will be a milestone in OAGi’s transition to more automated standards-management processes.
OAGi is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit open standards-development organization.
